Love is in the Air....

Thank you for joining us on My Cricut Craft Room's Wedding Crafts Blog Hop.  If you arrived here from Trish's blog, you are in the correct location.  Here is the line up for everyone who is participating.
Start

Thank you for joining us on My Cricut Craft Room Blog Hop.  Today I made a wedding reception card holder box to share with you.  June is the time when many guys and gals are thinking about weddings.  All the preparation leading up to that special day, when you join hands and take your vows.  Friends and family come to share your special day with you.

Many a bride gets help from her bridesmaids and family, choosing and sometimes creating those perfect gifts and trinkets that help to make your wedding.

My granddaughter, Jennifer, married her favorite guy Joe.  A lot of the decorating was done by family to help save some money.  I had been making flowers for cards, and Jen asked if would make a box for her to hold the wedding cards that they might receive at the wedding reception.   I got to work, cutting flower shapes on the Cricut. (It was a lot easier than cutting each one out individually.)  This is what I came up with.

I took a mache box, and painted it with a cream and peach paint. After that I covered it with a crackle paint and it really added to the overall box.

For most of the flowers I used a white pearlessence paper, with a few other pastel colors with a small dab of glitter in the center.   After making many flowers, large, small and medium sized, I started with the top of the box.  I used three roses and added some green swirls and leaves.  I only wanted a few for the top of the box.

I had been making tons of flower roses, large and small and medium in size. This is what the inside lid looked like when I added all those flowers.

and a closer look....

I used a white rose ribbon around the bottom of the box, and I took a white ribbon, made tails and added a ribbon rose.

On the tails I used silver alphabet stickers to spell "Jen n Joe Wedding Cards."

During the Wedding Reception, we placed this box, open on the table with the seating arrangements.  As people picked up their table arrangement, they were able to place their cards in the box.

Thank you for joining us today.  Next I hope you will visit April Nourse's  Blog, Curls and Grins, and see what she made to share with you.

A Day to Celebrate Dads

If you have arrived from Vicki's Blog, then you are in the right place.

Thank you for joining us on the My Cricut Craft Room's Father's Day Blog Hop.   Today I made a card to share with you.

Dads come in many different sizes and shapes and temperaments.  He may be an new dad, an old dad, the dad of many, or the dad of one.  One thing almost all dads have in common is the love of their child(ren).  It doesn't matter if the child is a babe in the arms of its mother or if the child is a mother herself.

My dad was always there for my brothers and me.  He helped in whatever way he could, doing the best he could for his kids.  He has been gone several years now, but I have fond memories of him.

My husband has been a dad to our kids.  He laughs with them and cries with them.  He steps  up to the plate to help when they need it.  While our kids are grown and own their own, he is still there to help them.

Father's Day celebrates dads of all kinds.  I have made a card for my husband, wishing him a "Happy Father's Day."  Here is the card....

I used a black cardstock for the background of the card, then I cut out a design from "Fancy Frames".  Using the "hide" button, I hid the center cut-out, making this a solid background, using Goldrush paper from CTMH.  The greeting and other embellishments came from Close to My Heart.  I love using the Fancy Frames, because they are so decorative, and by using the hide button, they become very versatile.

Next you will go to  Erica's Blog to see what she has made to share with everyone.

Whole Dads and Grads blog hop.

Cricut Birthday card

Thank you for joining us on My Cricut Craft Room's Birthday Blog Hop.  I made a card to share with you today.

I used the Damask Decor cartridge for this card. I haven't used it very much. I would look at the shapes, look at the cards feature, and wonder, "What can I do with this????  Now I know!!  It makes a great lacy looking background. I like how the various shapes can be turned into great backgrounds. This cartridge has been a hard one for me to figure out ways I can use it...until today!

The little girl is a digital stamp I got a while back.  (I wish I could remember where I got her, my computer crashed, and now I have start collecting my digital stamps all over again!)  I thought she was so cute.  I colored her with Copic markers and added some foil corners that I had.  I used the basic shapes to cut the scalloped square out, then my background is cut from Damask Decor.  The orange-ish color peeking out has glitter on it, to make it stand out.  I added some ribbon I had in my stash.  I hope you like it...and I know I will be using the Damask Decor cartridge a lot more.

The next person in the blog hop is Craft Lovers Come Here.  Check out the blog to see what has been created.

Brought to you by the Color Green...a Cricut Leprechaun

Hi.  Several events are happening this month...my best friend turns 75, spring is coming, we are in the season of Lent, we changed the clock, and St. Patrick's Day comes around.  At the Craft Squad, we are having a blog hop

For some reason, I have had some problems publishing this blog, with my card, but I have found a way around it (hopefully).

As the saying goes, on St. Patrick's Day, you are suppose to wear your green.  It also makes you think about Ireland and leprechauns.  When I  taught school, this was a day when the kids would come in, wearing their green clothes, and if you didn't wear green, you heard about it!  (This was with 7th and 8th grade students.)  As soon as I heard our title for this blog hop, I knew what I was going to make.

My Cricut Expression and I have become good friends lately, and I used an older cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up.  I cut out all the parts of the leprechaun using various shades of green.  What do you think?
I had some embellishments from Close to My Heart, which I added to the card.  They just happened to be green.  :)  The grass that my leprechaun is standing on was cut from some green paper and I punched the edges with a Martha Stewart punch.  The title on the top of the car is BELIEVE.

Inside, I took another piece of green paper, and punched the corners with another Martha Stewart punch, added a shamrock and the magical pot of gold!

You can now continue on the blog hop and visit ==============

Hello.  I just wanted everyone to know I have not disappeared.  LOL.  These past couple of months have been rather hectic.  My mom has been in the hospital a couple of times, and my youngest daughter has been having some behavioral issues at her group home, so needless to say, I have been pulled in two directions for a while.

I am hopeful things will finally start to slow down.  Between doctor appointments, lab work, tests, etc, I have been busying running up and down the state of NJ.  Christmas, or what there was of it, suddenly appeared and then as quickly was gone before I even knew it.

Mom is doing much better, and able to get around.  She is at her own house now.   I am going to look into Meals on Wheels for her.  Christina is in a specialized treatment home, and staff and doctors are trying to see what the problem is behind all the outbursts and behaviors.  Someone at least is trying to find an answer.

Now that I have some time back to myself, I can start to play with my tools and papers and stamps and such.  Start following my blog, and you will be able to see some of the things I make.

See you around!  :)

This is a little card I put together to mail to a friend.  The saying in the top says, "Let your light shine through".  I decided to use some of the paper from our new paper pack, Sparkle and Shine.  I had to decide where to place my lamp post....hmmmm  front or back of the page?  I decided in the front.   I stamped a lamp light, colored it using my honey alcohol marker, cut it out and hung on a lamp post.   There is  a candle inside it  that I colored, then stamped, using my Juniper alcohol marker.  After this all dried, I put a little bit of glitter around the light to give it a shimmer, like you see around a light at night.  I used 2 sentiments from this card set.  On the bottom sentiment, I put it on a piece of ribbon.

Thanks for looking.  Now "Hop" on over to Terri Ann's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the November SOTM is only available until November 30, 2013!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount or even free!
